A Princes Confession - Del 9

Kap 9

Shou:

I haven’t been outside in the sun for years. Almost my whole life, I have been hiding. In the beginning of my childhood when I was 5-years-old; my mother was diagnosed by a strange sickness, she wasn’t allowed to go out in the sun. She was scared that I might have got it and let me always be inside. I could say that I was a bit jealous back then, not being able to play with the other little boys. Then I hit into another crisis…which is why I’m very different from humans.
The sun’s rays were hitting me and hurting me a lot. It took a lot of effort not thinking about the sun at all. It also felt like as if I was resting upon this little girl beside me because she was having hard time walking.
It was not far off towards the town. It was my first time there and I felt like a social-outcast. But I looked very similar to these people; the men were walking with short-sleeved shirt. I had a shirt-sleeved shirt, almost like linen, which was black. And I had baggy pants, with many belts to keep them up. My hair was let out and I felt like it was burning up. My eyes hurt very much, I could feel the red rashes show up. It was is if the sun was sucking all energy out of me,
Ayaka pulled me to the side of the town where there was lots of shade; I creased my eyes and looked at her.
“How?” I asked.
“I could see it on your face. You don’t like the sun?” she asked.
I sat down on the little chair and groaned, “Well…I’ve been fond of the sun but apparently it dislikes me,” I said, giving a faint smile.
“So-“
“Let’s go!” I said, standing up.
I didn’t let her apologize since it isn’t her fault and today was me who is supposed to say sorry. I took hold of her hand and we both went to enter the festival.
“Lady Ayaka! Long time no see,” said this unfamiliar man.
Ayaka looked down and smiled, “Yes indeed” she said.
“And you are?” he said, regarding me.
“Kou…her partner” I said.
“Kou…never seen you before” he replied, laughing.
“Yeah…I’m new”
Ayaka looked at me with creased eyes and I blinked to her, to make her understand that I was lying. Then she smiled in respond.
We both went through the gate and I was pretty amazed by the rollercoaster rides and people running around. I smiled in amazement, surely the sun wouldn’t ruin this day. I started speeding up to look at the stuff around here. It was my first time and I could see how the people were gathering, dancing and laughing together. The little boys were playing with their kites and the small girls playing with their balloons. I looked behind at Ayaka whom was talking to this unfamiliar boy, around her age. I was thinking of going to them but I thought it would be rude to disturb them; they looked to be in pretty deep conversation. So I went to those little girls.
“And what’re you little ladies doing?” I asked, hunching down.
The small girls looked up and blushed, one of them smiled and looked down.
“Playin’ with dolls,” she said, in her squeaky voice.
I laughed, “Can I join?” I asked.
The other one exclaimed, “You can be the prince!”
“Hmm…I would rather be your prince than the dolls” I said.
She started to laugh, “But I’m little”
“I’ll wait”
“Pinky promise?”
I held out my hand towards her, so she caught her pinky with mine, “Pinky promise” I said.
“Wowowowowow well isn’t it someone that looks familiar” someone said behind me.
I looked behind and found some guys surrounding Ayaka. Quickly I stood up and went towards them. Ayaka seemed like she would fight at any moment but in the guys eyes they were thinking about something else than fight.
“Something wrong?” I asked, as I went through these guys to Ayaka.
Ayaka looked at and then back at them, “No…I was just leaving”
“Do you know them?”
“No…” she said.
One of the guys spitted on the ground, “Well…she ought not to know us…but she looks like someone familiar that always gamble” he said.
Gamble? I thought. Then it occurred to me why she always went with boyish cloths. I looked down at her and she remained silent.
“Well looks like you aren’t gentlemen at all, calling a young lady for man,” I said.
They all looked at me with gritted teeth, “You! Shut up, stuck up rich man”
I raised one eyebrow, “I can’t help that I work myself to earn money instead of doing dirty tricks like gambling as a life style, must suck huh?” I said.
“Don’t be that cocky!” the other was screaming.
He went towards me with his fists up in the air. I pushed Ayaka back so she fell on the ground. I dodged the punch, hunched down, and pulled my fists forward to his gut. He fell down and the rest came. It was the usual as I always did, dodge and punch. These people really don’t know what they get themselves into, which pities me. They all fell to the ground, groaning. I could hear some footsteps and I looked found the police on their away. Quickly, I took hold of Ayaka’s wrist and yanked her up. I quickly rushed with her away from the scene until we arrived to a dark tunnel.
“Thank God something dark” I said and stepped in with her.
