A Prince´s Confession - 1

Kap 1
Shou
Shou had always hated the feeling of having sunlight shining inside every morning. He would always shout to the maids to close the long emerald curtain until it became pitch black. Then he would let out a groan and go back to his deep slumber. This was his everyday life in the mornings.
But at the evening, when the sun decides to falter. That’s when Shou lingers through the enormous castle. But today was as usual, as it always had been. Shou woke up when the sun dimmed. He jumped out of his bed, having his normal head pains. He rubbed his forehead trying to ease the pain but in the end, he got to annoyed. He went towards the curtains and opened them. They gave a loud sound when he moved them to the sides. He had a large window, as large as his room. He looked out at the beautiful view, which was Shou’s personal favorite thing. Beautiful things such as lake views, the garden, flowers, everything peaceful.
Right, so today is as boring as always? Why not read a book then? He thought.
But his eyes still lingered at a small town not long away from his castle. Shou was the prince of the Shouta Tribe. His town was busy with people roaming around; smoke came out of the chimney. Shou had forgotten the smell of new baked bread, how the town’s men spoke, he didn’t know anything about his people. But that didn’t bother Shou, since his father was still alive; he would be able to take care of all that.
Father once said that me being with the people might make me angry, and I might hurt them, he thought, and I don’t want them to fear me…so I’ll stay here all day.
Shou’s stomach started to rumble and he decided to walk downstairs. Everybody was busy with cooking for dinner. Apparently, it was seven o’clock. Walking downstairs, he was going to walk past the entrance to the left, which was the kitchen. He saw his father walking past him full of himself, talking aloud to a few people taking notes. The people looked at Shou and bowed, then started walking towards the king.
I’m lucky that I don’t need to do that…yet, Shou thought and sighed.
He went to the dinner table, it was well lit with candles and the table was already set. The king had hired different men whom take shifts to always make the kitchen occupied. Shou just took a seat across the table and not soon after the king arrived, taking the other seat opposite to Shou.
Both Shou and the king nodded to each other and fell into silence. Soon, the maids came out with trays of their dinner. Shou looked at the food in disgust, which made the king frown.
“Shou…you need to have some soup in your life!” he said, laughing.
“Mhm…” was his reply.
He took the spoon, which the maids had put, next to the bowl of soup. He gently let the a little soup slid onto the spoon and started to blow on it until the mild temperature came. Shou felt the warmness come down his throat along with a dirty scent. He found the soup disgusted and frowned. He stood up and left the dinner room. The king did not prevent him thus because he knew Shou was going to refuse.
The only thing, which made Shou kill his time, was reading books. The books, which killed time and occupied his mind. He went to the grand library, which were a few rooms away from him. Stepping inside, he smelt the fragrance of old books, which Shou liked. He went to his favorite place, which was about the middle ages when the Vikings were alive. He took out a book, a war strategy of how the Vikings thought in their time. He then took the heavy book and went to stand beside the window.
After a while, Shou felt a bit drowsy. He closed the book and put it back to it’s place and looked at the clock. It was ten o’clock. That’s when he decided to take a walk outside of the palace. Shou usually lied to his father, saying that he would be around the palace garden, but there was a mini escape that led to the town. Shou at first decided to change cloths. He noticed his dark brown hair looked mild black when it was dark. He took out some black trousers with a white bleus, but the hot air made him warm, so he rolled up the sleeves and opened a few buttons on his shirt.
Walking outside of the palace felt refreshing for Shou. If only I could be like them, not different, I want to live here to where I’m never isolated, he thought bitterly.
He thought of going to his normal place. It wasn’t far from here, it was actually close to the lake, the place he admired. But then his eyes caught on something rather pretty. Walking towards it, he saw it was a flower shop. Amazed he opened the door to the shop and looked inside. It was dark but candles were lit, it meant that the shop was already closed. But surely, they would allow the prince inside?
He was amazed by the design and texture of the place. It looked like an inside garden in a house. And it smelt pretty dam with a bit of fog around. Different plants and flowers took shape and he smelled all of them. Until…he felt a presence of another. Quickly, his reflex kidded in, and he spun around and grasped at the persons hand before the broom would fall on him. He pushed the person on the ground and took hold of the broom.
“OW!” he heard a faint cry.
He looked much closely and found a young woman sitting there. She was in a light blue dress, and was holding around her wrists, he noticed that it might have been because of him. He saw also the black long hair.
“What the hell?” he said between gritting teeth.
He noticed anger welling up inside of him with a bit of annoyance.
“What the hell back at you! What are you doing in my shop!?” she exclaimed, “THIEF! If you’re going to steal something I won’t let you!”
He looked at her in surprise, so she didn’t know he was prince?
He closed his eyes to calm down, “Don’t worry I wasn’t going to steal. I’ll be going then”
He said walking past her, until she let out her foot and he staggered forward. Then he looked behind at her, his anger rushing through his blood, he gritted his teeth more. Then he marched towards her and yanked her up. He led her with anger while she was trying to fight against him. Then he pushed her down on the grass, back of the shop.
“Hmm…you look like a servant.” He said looking down at her, “and with a horrible smell…do you ever shower?” he said, wrinkling his nose.
She had thinned her lips and looked extremely mad, “Don’t you dare call me that! UGLY!”
Shou looked at her with surprise, “Who’s the ugly duckling? Aww…lost your mother? I think she abandoned you because you are filthy,” he said smugly.
Looking at this peasant, makes me hate the town’s people. I don’t care at all about my people if they have this disgusted personality. He thought.
